HIGH SURF THROUGH LATE THIS EVENING.

LARGE SWELLS WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE LARGE BREAKING WAVES ALONG THE SOUTHERN OREGON COAST THROUGH THIS EVENING.

HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PST THIS EVENING.

* WAVES AND SURF: LARGE SWELLS WILL PRODUCE BREAKING WAVES AROUND OF 20 FEET IN THE SURF ZONE THROUGH THIS EVENING.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED: LARGE BREAKERS WILL AFFECT ALL COASTAL AREAS THROUGH THIS EVENING.

HOWEVER, SOUTH GALES ARE LIKELY TO WORSEN BREAKING WAVE IMPACTS AT AND AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE AT SOUTH THROUGH WEST FACING PORTIONS OF THE COASTLINE AROUND NOON TODAY.

IMPACTS:
LARGE SURF WILL MAKE BEACHES AND JETTIES VERY DANGEROUS.

WAVES OF THIS MAGNITUDE CAN EASILY SWEEP PEOPLE FROM JETTIES INTO THE COLD OCEAN WATER.

EVEN IF WAVES DO NOT APPEAR TO BE DANGEROUS, LARGE SETS CAN ARRIVE SUDDENLY.

DO NOT GO OUT ON JETTIES AND USE EXTREME CAUTION AT BEACHES.

ESPECIALLY AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE.

DO NOT TURN YOUR BACK ON THE OCEAN.

A LARGE PLUME OF DEEP MOISTURE FROM A WET PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING HEAVY RAINFALL TO THE COAST, COAST RANGE, CASCADE FOOTHILLS AND CASCADES TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

HEAVY RAINFALL MAY CAUSE FLOODING OF RIVERS, STREAMS, CREEKS AND URBAN AREAS.

FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM PST THIS MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING.

THE FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR * A PORTION OF SOUTHWEST OREGON, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS, CURRY COUNTY COAST AND SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON COAST.

* FROM 10 AM PST THIS MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING * HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE RAPID RISES ON AREA STREAMS, CREEKS AND RIVERS.

THERE IS ALSO THE POTENTIAL FOR URBAN FLOODING IN AREAS OF POOR DRAINAGE AND DUE TO PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS.

* HEAVY RAINFALL MAY ALSO CAUSE MUDSLIDES, ROCKSLIDES AND DEBRIS FLOWS ON AREA ROADWAYS, INCLUDING US 101, HIGHWAY 42, AND HIGHWAY 38.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MEDFORD HAS EXPANDED THE * FLOOD WATCH TO INCLUDE A PORTION OF SOUTHWEST OREGON.

INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREA, EASTERN CURRY COUNTY AND JOSEPHINE COUNTY.

* FROM 10 AM PST THIS MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING * THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL AND BEST POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING IS EXPECTED WEST OF INTERSTATE 5 AND HIGHWAY 199.

* HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE RAPID RISES ON AREA STREAMS, CREEKS AND RIVERS.

THERE IS ALSO THE POTENTIAL FOR URBAN FLOODING IN AREAS OF POOR DRAINAGE AND DUE TO PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS.
