ELEVATED SURF AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS FOR SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA BEACHES NOW THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.

A COMBINATION OF MEDIUM PERIOD WEST TO NORTHWEST SWELL AND LONG PERIOD SOUTH SWELL WILL CONTINUE TO BRING ELEVATED SURF TO AREA BEACHES THROUGH MONDAY MORNING, ALONG WITH STRONG RIP CURRENTS.

NORTH OF POINT CONCEPTION, ELEVATED SURF WILL AFFECT SOUTHWEST AND WEST TO NORTHWEST FACING BEACHES.

SOUTH OF POINT CONCEPTION, THE LARGER SURF WILL BE ON SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST FACING BEACHES.

THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL REPORTS OF TRECHEROUS RIP CURRENT CONDITIONS OCCURRING TODAY INCLUDING ZUMA AND PORT HUENEME BEACHES.

BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.

* HAZARDS, SURF FROM 4 TO 6 FEET WITH LOCAL SETS TO 7 FEET TODAY THEN SUBSIDING EARLY MONDAY MORNING.

THERE WILL ALSO BE STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND LONGSHORE CURRENTS.

IMPACTS:
THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK OF OCEAN DROWNING.

RIP CURRENTS CAN PULL SWIMMERS AND SURFERS OUT TO SEA.

SNEAKER WAVES CAN SUDDENLY WASH PEOPLE OFF OF BEACHES AND ROCK JETTIES.
