GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA THROUGH TONIGHT.

GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS WILL DECREASE THIS AFTERNOON BUT ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE AGAIN TONIGHT ACROSS THE SOUTH COAST AND THE SANTA YNEZ MOUNTAIN RANGE OF SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, THE MOUNTAINS OF VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY ALONG THE I-5 CORRIDOR, AND OVER THE SANTA MONICA MOUNTAINS.

NORTHERLY WINDS WILL SUBSIDE MONDAY MORNING, HOWEVER NORTHEAST WINDS WILL LIKELY INCREASE ACROSS VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY.

ADDITIONAL WIND ADVISORIES MAY BE NEEDED FOR THESE SANTA ANA WIND CONDITIONS.

WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PST MONDAY.

WINDS:
NORTH 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.

TIMING:
WINDS WILL DECREASE SLIGHTLY THIS AFTERNOON AND THEN INCREASE AGAIN LATER THIS EVENING AND PERSIST INTO MONDAY MORNING.

IMPACTS:
TRAVEL WILL BE IMPACTED ON AREA ROADWAYS, PRIMARILY ALONG THE INTERSTATE 5 CORRIDOR NEAR GORMAN.

LARGE AND POTENTIALLY DAMAGING SURF AT TIMES ALONG THE CENTRAL COAST THROUGH TONIGHT.

ELEVATED SURF THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE WEST FACING SHORES OF VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES.

A LARGE NORTHWEST SWELL WILL CONTINUE TO BRING HIGH SURF TO THE CENTRAL COAST THROUGH TONIGHT, AND ELEVATED SURF FOR WEST FACING BEACHES OF VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON.

BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM PST THIS EVENING.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOS ANGELES/OXNARD HAS ISSUED A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT FOR ELEVATED SURF AND DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS, WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM PST THIS EVENING.

* SURF AND TIMING, SURF 3 TO 5 FEET WITH LOCAL SETS TO 7 FEET.

SURF WILL PEAK LATE THIS MORNING THEN SLOWLY DIMINISH THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON.

LOCATION:
ALONG EXPOSED WEST FACING SHORES.

IMPACTS:
STRONG RIP CURRENTS IN THE VICINITY OF HIGH SURF.
