HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING.

FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LITTLE ROCK HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR A PORTION OF NORTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS.

INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS, BAXTER, BOONE, MARION.

NEWTON AND SEARCY.

* FROM 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING * A COLD FRONT WILL STALL JUST NORTH OF THE STATE THIS EVENING, WITH SEVERAL ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE THROUGH MUCH OF WEDNESDAY.

AS A RESULT, HEAVY RAINFALL AND THE THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING WILL INCREASE.

* RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED, WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS EXPECTED ACROSS THE FAR NORTHWEST SECTIONS OF THE AREA.

LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE.

SOME OF THESE SAME AREAS HAVE DEALT WITH FLASH FLOODING IN RECENT DAYS, AND GIVEN THE TERRAIN IN THIS REGION OF THE STATE, THE POTENTIAL FOR FLASH FLOODING WILL INCREASE.
